Chapstick | Hydration Lock Review
When I think of ChapStick I can’t help but think of the cherry flavored ChapStick I used as a little girl. It was probably my first “beauty” product I owned. I’ve come a long way since then and apparently so has ChapStick.
I received the ChapStick Dual-Ended Hydration Lock in Night & Day and Moisture & Renew and I’m happy to tell you these are perfect to keep you lips moisturized, especially for the dry winter months. They’re lightly scented, dual-ended, and the caps are nicely color coded making them easy peasy, no guessing which side is which. Chapstick stepped up their game folks. Goodbye chapped lips, hello Chapstick!
I tried to look this up on EWG’s Skin Deep but they didn’t have these specific ones listed as tested. Most of the ChapStick products range in the 4-6 range regarding toxicity. Not the greatest but not the worst either.
ChapStick® Dual-Ended Hydration Lock Day & Night | Retail $2.99 2.2 grams
The day and night formula is pretty straight forward, one side is for day use and the other is for night. The day formula has SPF 12 which is a necessity for use during the day. The night formula is jammed packed with awesome ingredients like avocado butter, beeswax, coconut oil, olive butter, shea butter, jojoba oil, tamanu oil, and vitamin E to deeply hydrate while you sleep. Speaking of sleep, it’s lightly scented with Chamomile to help you get some zzz’s.
I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I love how soft my lips feel. If there’s only one beauty tip I can give you for lips and wearing lipstick it’s that you should never put lipstick on chapped lips! Trust me, I’ve tried it before, there’s no way to make it look good.
ChapStick® Dual-Ended Hydration Lock Moisturize & Renew | Retail $2.99 2.2 grams
It’s never to early to want younger looking lips. OK, that might not be true but it’s not that bad to start even if you’re in your twenties. The moisturize side has antioxidants CoQ10 and vitamin E while the renew side includes ingredients like avocado butter, beeswax, coconut oil, jojoba seed oil, mango butter, olive butter, raspberry seed oil, shea butter, soybean oil, sunflower seed oil, and vitamin E.
At $2.99 each these are perfect for keeping chapped lips at bay. I always prep my lips with chapstick before putting any makeup on. This way it has enough time to do it’s job and give my lips a nice even texture that’s perfect, whether I’m doing red lips or lip gloss.
